When you’re looking for a grow light, you want quality LEDs, good cooling and a spectrum that suits your plants. Kind LED built its name on lights aimed at serious indoor growers.
This overview covers the brand and the models it was best known for, and what to check before you buy.

Kind LED
Kind LED is an American LED grow light company with a Santa Rosa, California mailing address. Its official site now says the brand has been renamed Gorilla Grow Lights.
The current lineup on that site is the X Series, the X² commercial light, the X1 greenhouse light, bar lights and accessories. The older K3 and K5 models covered below are not listed there, so they appear to be discontinued.
Kind LED has marketed its lights as full spectrum and promised better yields than older lighting. Treat those claims as marketing, not test results.
The Stars of the Show
Kind LED’s best-known older lines were the K3 Series L600, the K5 Series XL750 and the K5 XL1000. You may still find them used or as leftover stock.
K3 Series L600
The K3 Series L600 was the entry point of the older lineup, built around 3-watt diodes with fans and heat sinks for cooling. It was sold for vegetative and flowering growth in tents and small grow rooms.
I couldn’t verify its full specs or current price on an official Kind LED page, so check the seller’s listing carefully.
K5 Series XL750
The K5 Series XL750 was a step up, built around 5-watt diodes with secondary optical lenses and dimming. Bigger isn’t always better: make sure its coverage matches your space before paying more for it.
K5 Series XL1000
The K5 XL1000 was the top of the older line, aimed at professional growers who wanted a programmable, remote-controlled light. I couldn’t confirm its coverage area or features on an official page, since the K5 series is no longer listed.
Made for Professionals
Kind LED has mostly aimed at professional and large-scale growers rather than hobbyists. These lights cost more than many other brands, so make sure you need the features before you spend extra.
When comparing any LED, look past the wattage. University of Minnesota Extension explains that watts measure the energy a light uses, while PPF tells you how much plant-usable light it puts out. LEDs also run cooler than HPS and metal halide lights.

Warranty and Customer Service
Warranties matter with LED systems. I couldn’t confirm Kind LED’s current warranty terms on its official site, so ask the seller or the company for the written warranty before you buy, especially for discontinued models.
Conclusion
Kind LED, now Gorilla Grow Lights, makes high-end LED grow lights at a high price. Its older K3 and K5 models are no longer on the official site, so buy them only with clear warranty terms.
If you’re a hobbyist growing only 2 or 3 plants at home, a cheaper light may be a better fit. More expensive doesn’t always mean better, so compare PPF, coverage and warranty for your own grow space.
