Platinum Gorilla Strain Review (In House Genetics)

"Gorilla Glue"

For this review, I tried out the Platinum Gorilla Strain (also known as Platinum Gorilla Glue) from In House Genetics. It’s one of the strains I was excited to try, primarily because it’s a hybrid of Platinum Kush and Gorilla Glue 4.

It’s known for being one of the most potent strains in the world, and did not disappoint me.

As an Indica-dominant strain, Platinum Gorilla Glue can produce a deeper body high, making it good for relaxation and delivering sedative properties. With up to 65% Indica, it is great for night-time use.

  • Lineage:  Platinum Kush x Gorilla Glue #4
  • Type: Hybrid
  • Potency:  18-28% THC
  • Terpene Profile: Caryophyllene
  • Packaging Details: Packaged on 01/10/2023, tested on 01/25/2023, 15 days later
  • Pricing Details: Purchased 28 grams for $330 at Kushman (approximately $11.80/gram)

Appearance: 4.5/5

dense and spongy - platinum gorilla glue

My first impression upon seeing the Platinum Gorilla Glue is that it is dense and spongy. The buds are bright green with purple hues and tiny orange hairs.

Further, the Platinum Gorilla is also resinous, which may make it a challenge to work with, especially if you’re a newbie in weed. Trichome crystals are highly apparent, which reminds me of the Gelato Mint Strain. As such, it’s best to have a reliable grinder in your hand to make the most of this Indica-dominant hybrid.

The Platinum Gorilla Glue that I had was quite large. The minimum I could purchase at Kushman is one ounce or 28 grams. It is even available in a full-pound package.

Aroma: 4.5/5

The aroma of the Platinum Gorilla Glue is unmistakable. It is extremely potent. Even without putting it close to my nose, the smell excites me!

With the genetic makeup of this close relative of the Gorilla Glue 4 being a combination of sour diesel and chocolate diesel, it is expected that it will come with a robust aroma. Hence, I wasn’t surprised at all about how the Platinum Gorilla tasted. However, the chocolate diesel is not as strong as the sour diesel. I can say that it has more of a coffee aroma than chocolate.

Flavor: 5/5

Given the intensity of the aroma, the flavor of the Platinum Gorilla Glue is strong! I can describe it as a combination of sweet and earthy with a hint of a fruity taste. Some of the fruits that it reminds me of are lemons, oranges, and apples.

I was expecting the flavor to be too much to handle, but luckily, it was just right. It does not overpower, which contributes to the overall experience of using the In House Genetics Platinum Gorilla Glue.

While I have not tried it personally, I assume the Platinum Gorilla can also be great for edibles. It will leave users feeling glued not only to its effects but also to its distinct flavor.

Effects: 4.5/5

The Platinum Gorilla Glue is a good strain for relieving chronic pain, stress, and anxiety and stimulating appetite. It can also produce a deeper body high.

The sedative properties are notable, making it ideal for evening use. This also proves that the strain is leaning toward its Indica aspects.

Overall: 4.5/5

Wrapping up, the Platinum Gorilla is a treat to the senses. The potent aroma and flavor are highly noticeable and enough to excite the senses.

More so, the Platinum GG strain is highly effective! I suggest this strain for relieving chronic pain, stress, and anxiety, and stimulating appetite. The Platinum Kush genetics in this hugely popular gorilla glue hybrid helped produce a deeper effect.
