Pacific Seed Bank Review: We’ve Seen Better…

If you're looking to buy cannabis seeds online, one name you might see is Pacific Seed Bank. Is it the right choice for you?

Read on and I'll share my experience, along with what Pacific Seed Bank's own policies say.

Before You Buy: The Law

Pacific Seed Bank says customers are responsible for knowing the rules on buying and shipping seeds where they live, and that it can't be held accountable for legal issues from an order.

In the US, marijuana is still a Schedule I drug under federal law, outside a 2026 rescheduling rule that covers only FDA-approved products and state-licensed medical marijuana. State home-grow laws differ widely, and only adults (21 and older in adult-use states) should buy.

Federal seed rules are also changing. The Congressional Research Service explains that P.L. 119-37 rewrites the federal hemp definition to exclude viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC (including THCA), with parts of the change taking effect in late 2026.

My Quick Pacific Seed Bank Review

Pacific Seed Bank advertises more than 1,400 strains. The website is easy to use, and the prices are reasonable. It also promises a 90% germination rate and replaces seeds that fail, with some conditions.

But are these enough to consider buying from Pacific Seeds?

I wasn't impressed with the customer service, which felt slow, and there was no live chat when I reviewed it.

Promos are also limited. The main ones I saw were a welcome discount code and occasional sales on select products.

Shipping isn't free. Pacific Seed Bank charges a flat rate, which is higher for international orders.

A Look at the History of Pacific Seed Bank

Not much is published about Pacific Seed Bank's history. Its FAQ says it was founded in response to unreliable online seed buying but doesn't give a founding year.

According to its FAQ, the company is located in Northern California, with corporate headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, and marketing offices in the US.

Seed Selection & Quality

When choosing a seed bank, it's important to look at the selection. Variety matters, but seed quality matters more, since you want seeds that germinate and thrive.

Pacific Seed Bank advertises more than 1,400 strains. Its FAQ says the seeds come from in-house breeders in Europe, Canada and the United States.

That's a big catalog, but it's still worth comparing with other large shops. Herbies, for instance, carries seeds from many breeders.

Choose from Different Seed Categories

Like many of the other online seed banks I have reviewed, Pacific offers seeds in different categories. The website makes it easy to filter the results.

At the top of the site, you’ll see two general categories: feminized seeds and auto-flowering seeds. Users can also filter by the type of marijuana, THC level and plant height.

90% Germination Guarantee

It's frustrating when seeds don't germinate. That's a waste of money, time and effort.

Pacific Seed Bank's FAQ says it ensures a 90% germination rate and replaces seeds that don't germinate at no charge for the seeds themselves.

There are caveats. Single-seed replacements aren't offered, seeds bought more than 60 days before the complaint aren't eligible, and you pay the shipping cost for the replacements.

Pacific Seed Bank also publishes a germination guide on its site, which is worth following before you file a claim.

Price is a big factor for new growers and anyone on a budget. Personally, I don't mind paying a bit more for better seed quality.

The prices are reasonable, although it’s not uncommon to find cheaper deals from other seed banks.

When I compared White Widow feminized seeds, Herbies was cheaper than Pacific Seed Bank, while I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM) and MSNL were in a similar range.

Seed prices change often, so compare the same strain and pack size at checkout before you buy.

Wholesale Pricing Is Available

Do you need to order in bulk?

Pacific Seed Bank has a wholesale program. The website doesn't list the discounts; you need to contact its wholesale division for rates.

Available Discounts and Promotions at Pacific Seed Bank

I’m always on the hunt for the best deals. Naturally, when I looked at Pacific Seed Bank, I searched for discounts and promos.

Promotions are limited. I didn't find a dedicated deals page like some seed banks have.

Besides wholesale pricing, the offers I saw on its site were a WELCOME10 code for 10% off and a pop-up discount on select products. Offers change, so check the site before ordering.

Customer Service

In my view, customer service is where Pacific Seed Bank needs the most work.

You can call its toll-free line, 1-844-480-SEED (7333), Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST.

Alternatively, you can email them at [email protected].

There was no live chat when I reviewed it. That would have been the easiest way to reach someone, such as when you're worried about seed quality.

Replies to my questions felt slow, so leave yourself time if you need help with an order or replacement seeds.

Website Experience

The Pacific Seed Bank website is clean and simple. When I first tried it, I found what I was looking for right away.

You'll see the main seed categories first, including feminized and autoflowering seeds, plus high-CBD options.

I would have liked more features, though. Some seed banks offer a seed comparison tool or a short quiz to help you pick the right seeds.

Ordering Seeds

You can order directly on the website. Pick a strain, choose a pack size and quantity, and click Add to Cart.

In your cart, you can add a coupon code, such as the welcome code mentioned above.

You can also order by phone, which I haven't tried.

Online Resources for Growers

Pacific Seed Bank has growing resources, which are helpful for beginners. You'll find a germination guide and a marijuana education section.

Payment Methods

Pacific Seed Bank's payment page lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover, plus Bitcoin. Its options are fewer than at some competitors, such as I Love Growing Marijuana and Herbies Seeds, so check checkout if you have a preferred method.

Pacific Seed Bank used to offer pay-by-mail with a cashier’s check, along with bonus seeds. Its current payment page doesn't list that option.

Orders ship only after payment is confirmed.

Important Things to Note

All prices on the website are in US dollars. Depending on where you live, you may owe duties and import taxes, and you pay any currency conversion or transaction fees.

Shipping

Pacific Seed Bank ships to many countries, but not everywhere. Its shipping page says it doesn't deliver to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand or OFAC-sanctioned countries.

Being able to ship somewhere doesn't make the order legal. The customer is responsible for following local laws, and Pacific Seed Bank says it can't be held accountable for legal issues.

Every order comes with a tracking number, emailed once it ships.

P.O. boxes are accepted, according to its FAQ. Double-check your address, because it can't be changed once the order is processed.

Shipping Fees and Timelines

Its FAQ says breeders can take up to 3-5 business days to inspect and pack an order before it ships.

According to its shipping page:

  • US flat rate: $9.50, 5 to 7 business days
  • US priority: $18.50, 1 to 3 business days
  • Express international: $29, 7 to 25 business days

I didn't see a free-shipping threshold on its shipping page. By comparison, I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM) ships only within the US.

Discreet Packaging

Pacific Seed Bank ships seeds in crush-proof, air-tight packaging inside padded mailers. Packages are unbranded, showing only your name and address and its return address.

Orders outside the US get stealth packaging at no extra charge. Card charges also appear under a discreet name, according to its FAQ.

Alternatives

Honestly, Pacific Seed Bank is not on the top of my list when I’m ordering cannabis seeds. If you’re looking for better alternatives, here are some options to consider:

  • I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM): A well-known seed bank with a germination guarantee on every pack. It ships only within the United States.
  • Herbies Seeds: Herbies runs more promos than Pacific Seed Bank, including free seeds with every order.

Overall

As I noted in this Pacific Seed Bank review, it's decent overall, with reasonable prices and a large catalog. Still, it lags behind the competition in a few areas.

I found the customer service slow, shipping always costs extra, and promotions are limited. Its germination guarantee also comes with conditions, such as a 60-day window and paying for replacement shipping.
