OG Brulee Strain Review (Emerald Family Farms)

OG Brulee nugget

I finally got my hands on the OG Brulee Strain, the Creme Brulee, the custard boy of highs. It’s one of my all-time favorite strains – I love the sweet European custard dessert it’s named after.

But more than that, it’s a breed of the classic OG Kush, Platinum Kush, and Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) strains.

For the new cannabis senseis, you should slow down with this one. I’m not gatekeeping. It’s a superbly flavored strain with an uplifting high to enjoy day and night. But it’s one of those strains that can draw you in, mess you up and turn you against the green.

Now let’s get to unveiling this nug.

  • Lineage: Platinum Kush x OG Kush x Girl Scout Cookies
  • Type: Indica-dominant
  • Potency: 18-24% THC, 0.25-0.4% CBD
  • Terpene Profile: Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Linalool.
  • Packaging Details:  Not available
  • Pricing Details: Purchased a quarter ounce for $60 gram for $8.5/per gram) at Craft Cannabis by Hierba

Appearance: 4/5

The Creme Brulee is a beauty to behold. And so was the packaging of the vape cartridge I first bought before the buds. Its colorful packaging with an animated bowl of Creme Brulee with a strawberry and grape topping got me drooling.

You bet I tore right in when the nugs came in. The buds are brightly colored lime green with golden yellow pop and dark purple undertones. Another thing I noticed is the hairy resins on OG Brulee, which made me thirst for a joint and the potential of making hash DIY-style.

Unlike other strains, the buds are softer. You can almost taste them mere looking at these nugs. And you don’t need a herb grinder to crush the buds.

Aroma: 5/5

I was just off a streak of trying pungent marijuana strains when I tried the Creme Brulee. Right out of the bag, I perceived a sweet candied vanilla scent with earth hints – it took me straight to the Girl Scout Cookies cross. And the OG Kush and Platinum Kush probably to its earthy notes.

At that moment, I thought the OG Brulee had a genius moniker – you’d know if you’ve had the confection – considering the “sweet” and “nutty” smell of vanilla custard and caramelized sugar.

The exhale was even much better. I had to research the flavor of my excitement after two tokes. After looking it up, experienced stoners say it’s earthy woods, nuts, pine, and herbs.

Flavor: 5/5

I knew I was in for a special treat with this strain. I have a high tolerance, but every drag hits smoothly and has a delicious mouth taste.

Careful, though, Creme Brulee tastes just as good as it feels. But don’t go back for another hit chasing that high after it kicks in. You’ll see why.

Effects: 3/5

I love the body-high of the OG Brulee; it’s slow, smooth, and sensational. This strain is best enjoyed at night as it makes me tired and sleepy during the day. So it’s the perfect strain to chill after a long day or week.

The Creme Brulee strain is also recommended for medical patients with mental health issues like anxiety and depression or insomnia and stress.

It helps melt away the day’s stress and ease your mind and body. It’s snacky and can progress into a couch lock and a peaceful nap.

Overall: 4/5

As our Creme Brulee Strain review highlights, it’s a rare indica dominant strain with bodily effects to soothe a long day. Moreso, it’s a flavorful happy weed with smooth highs that don’t do justice to its high THC content.

So, I’ll go out on a limb to tell you to slow it down, burning the Creme Brulee strain, especially if you’re a newbie. Its euphoric and stress relief effects progress into a sedative couch-lock, giving you a body and mind high.

Another Indica-dominant strain is the Lemon Garlic OG that’s good for end-of-day relaxation. Don’t forget to check it out!

Alternatives

I love the OG Brulee strain, and it’s easily one of my top 5 strains. But it may not be everybody’s cup of tea. So here are better alternatives that can be worth your high rotation:

  • Inferno OG: Peppery and minty with a sweet lasting scent. It hits hard with uplifting and arousing effects that deal with chronic pain, appetite loss, and insomnia. But it is also a better daytime strain.
  • Trinity: it’s a perfect alternative if you prefer a sativa dominant strain that smells nothing like cookies.
