Herbies Seeds Review: Can You Trust Them?

Herbies is one of the best-known online seed banks. From its beginnings as Herbies Head Shop it grew into the large cannabis seed supplier it is today. Herbies says it has been operating for over 20 years.

With its diverse strain selection, reliable shipping, and user-friendly website, it’s easy to understand why Herbies Seeds is a crowd favorite. My personal experience has been nothing short of impressive, although I have also read some complaints from other users.

So, is this online seed bank worth a shot? Keep on reading this Herbies Seeds review to learn more!

Check the law before you order. Buying, importing or germinating cannabis seeds is illegal in many countries and some US states. Herbies itself says its seeds are sold as souvenirs and must not be germinated where that's illegal. In the US, a new federal hemp definition in P.L. 119-37 excludes viable seeds from cannabis plants that exceed 0.3% total THC, and the Congressional Research Service reports that most of the new definition takes effect December 11, 2026. In the US, marijuana is still a Schedule I drug under federal law outside the narrow categories that a 2026 final rule moved to Schedule III: FDA-approved drug products and state-licensed medical marijuana. State laws differ. Growing is only for adults where home cultivation is legal.

My Quick Herbies Seeds Review

Overall, Herbies Seeds is an exceptional option for new and seasoned growers. It has a diverse selection of high-quality strains. The company also ships to many countries and adds free seeds to every order.

More so, Herbies excels because of its user-friendly website for a convenient online shopping experience. Plus, Herbies says the seed banks it works with aim for at least 90% germination, and it offers replacements under its germination guarantee. Customer service is available around the clock.

If there’s a minor issue, it's that free shipping is limited. Herbies offers it on larger orders within the EU and the UK, but US buyers pay for shipping.

A Quick Look at the History of Herbies Seeds

Let me take you on a quick history lesson and trace the roots of Herbies from how it started as a small store to how it grew as one of the prominent sources of high-quality cannabis seeds.

The story started in the 2000s, when the business was known as Herbies Head Shop. Today it ships to a long list of countries.

One of the most significant milestones in the company’s history is the introduction of Herbies USA Express. USA Express orders ship from a US-based warehouse, and Herbies says delivery typically takes 2 to 4 days from when payment is received.

Seed Selection & Quality

With tons of seed banks around, each one needs to find a competitive advantage to flourish in a saturated market. For years, I’ve been using Herbies Seeds because it has an edge over many others – its seed quality and selection.

Herbies says it offers more than 1,500 strains from 99 different seed banks.

Every time I buy cannabis seeds at Herbies, I end up being overwhelmed. From auto-flowering to feminized seeds, the options are almost endless. Good thing, it’s easy to navigate through the maze of alternatives, which I will share later when we talk about the website experience.

From Sweet Seeds to Ministry of Cannabis, Royal Queen Seeds to Fast Buds, Herbies Seeds has a collection that’s hard to rival.

Herbies says it sells only original breeder seeds, and the seeds I've bought have been good quality.

In-House Brand With an Amazing Selection

One more thing that I liked about Herbies is that it has its own in-house brand, Herbies Seeds, alongside the breeders it resells.

Among others, Grandmommy Purple Feminized Seeds is one of the most popular. It's an Indica-dominant strain bred for high potency, though THC in the finished plant depends on how it's grown.

An Array of Rare Strains To Choose From

Whenever I want to grow rare strains, Herbies Seeds is often on the top of the list. A lot of Herbies Head Shop reviews note that it has a decent selection of hard-to-find strains.

One of my favorites is the Dark Devil Auto from Sweet Seeds. The pitch-black bud that it grows is something you won’t often find. Nebule, Mendocino Skunk, and Pakistan Valley are other rare strains you’ll find at Herbies.

Germination Guarantee for Peace of Mind

As a marijuana grower, I had several experiences of cannabis seeds not germinating. It’s frustrating to wait several weeks only to end up knowing that the seeds will not germinate at all.

Herbies says the seed banks it works with guarantee at least 90% germination. The standard guarantee runs 90 days from purchase, and its own Herbies Seeds line (plus AlphaFem Seeds, EGS and Seedkeepers) gets an extended 1-year guarantee if you follow its storage and germination guidelines.

However, separate bonus seeds aren't covered. Extra seeds in promo packs, such as a 5+2 pack, do count toward the pack total. You'll need photos of the failed seeds to make a claim.

Pricing

Price is another strength. Some seeds are expensive, but those are mostly rare strains or premium genetics.

Herbies has budget options, and seasonal promos, order-size discounts and free seeds lower the cost further. Prices change often, so check the site for current pricing.

To illustrate the pricing at Herbies Seeds, let’s look at an example. When I compared OG Kush Autoflower Feminized Seeds, the per-seed price at Herbies was much lower than at ILGM, which is another seed bank I love. Prices change, so compare both before you buy.

Available Discounts & Promotions at Herbies Seeds

When buying cannabis seeds, I’m always on the lookout for promos, so I can make the most of every dollar. This is another aspect in which Herbies Seeds does not disappoint.

Herbies adds one free seed to every order. On top of that, you can choose an extra free seed each time your cart reaches the next bonus threshold, which the cart shows as you shop.

Some might think that because they’re free, the quality is inferior. But that’s far from being the case. In my experience, even the free seeds have impressive quality.

Special Gifts Beyond Free Weed Seeds

Herbies currently lists small extras with every order, such as a pot topper, a branded card and a sticker, while stocks last. The gift lineup changes, so check the Gifts page before you order.

Promotional Offers From Different Brands

Depending on the brand, you can also qualify for different promos. For example, some packs come as 3+1, 5+2 or 10+4 deals.

Free Seeds Without a Purchase

Sounds like a dream, right? But there are some legit ways by which you can get free Herbies Seeds even without buying them. The first is through participating in their contests. Follow their social media pages for alerts once they have a contest.

Influencers, website owners, and bloggers can also get free marijuana seeds. Reach them at [email protected] for more information.

Customer Service

Herbies says its customer support is available 24/7. Whether you’re a seasoned grower or a novice just starting your cannabis cultivation journey, you’ll likely have questions and concerns.

Customer service should be accessible, and Herbies Seeds excels in this aspect.

Whenever I need to contact Herbies Seeds, the first thing I do is utilize the website’s live chat feature. The widget on the lower right section automatically connects me to an available online agent. It usually takes only a few minutes before I am connected.

Alternatively, you can also reach them through email, although the response will be slower compared to live chat. For sales and support, send a message to [email protected]. Meanwhile, for quality control, reach them at [email protected].

Herbies' Contacts page lists its other channels, including social media and a contact form.

Website Experience

One more thing I would like to highlight in this Herbies Seeds review is the website. Overall, it was a good experience.

Herbies has a user-friendly website. It comes with an intuitive layout, which makes it easy to navigate.

Upon opening the homepage, you’ll find the top-selling cannabis seeds. This is great for those who do not have an idea about what to buy.

The website also groups strains based on different categories. For instance, you’ll find Strongest Strains, Big Yielders, and High CBD.

Automatic Freebies Calculator

The website has a built-in feature that automatically computes how many seeds you can qualify for. This is one thing that I don’t often see in other seed banks.

First, choose the destination country. Next, choose the order amount. After this, the website will automatically show the bonuses and gifts you’ll receive with your order.

A Quick Way To Compare Seeds

Another thing I liked about the website of Herbies Seeds is the Compare List. It provides an easy way to look at how one strain compares to the other, so you can easily decide which one to buy.

Whenever you are shopping on the website, look for a specific strain and click the Add to Compare icon. This is next to the heart or Add to Wishlist icon.

When you look at the Compare List, you’ll now find a side-by-side comparison of the different strains you have chosen. You’ll see crucial information such as the best method of growing, genetics, yield, harvest time, taste, and CBD and THC content.

Payment Methods

Isn’t it frustrating when limited payment options are available when you buy cannabis seeds? Several Herbies Head Shop reviews note that such won’t be a problem.

Herbies offers several payment methods, and the options vary from country to country.

Herbies says it accepts card payments, bank transfers, USDT, Bitcoin and selected cash options, depending on the region. The US site also lists Venmo.

Here’s where it gets more interesting: you can pay using Bitcoin.

Some buyers like paying with cryptocurrency for privacy, but Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public ledger, so they aren't truly anonymous.

USDT, a stablecoin, is another payment method you can use at Herbies Seed Bank. It's designed to track the value of the US dollar.

Herbies also offers order-size discounts, with bigger percentage discounts on larger carts.

Shipping

Herbies ships to a long list of countries, including the following. That doesn't make ordering seeds legal where you live, so check your local laws first.

• United States
• Canada
• United Kingdom
• France
• Germany
• Greece
• Portugal
• Spain
• Thailand
• Vietnam

Herbies' shipping calculator shows whether it ships to your country.

Now, you might be wondering how long shipping takes. It depends on your location, as well as the chosen shipment methods.

Herbies says USA Express orders usually arrive 2 to 4 days after payment is received, and UK orders within 4 to 8 days. International orders can take up to 3 to 4 weeks.

Stealth Packaging for Discretion

In my experience, Herbies Seeds ships discreetly.

The package does not contain any indication of where it is from. In addition, it does not specify what the contents are.

Plain packaging doesn't change the law, though. Customs seizures happen, and a seizure means the seeds aren't allowed into your country.

A Look at the Costs

The cost of shipping varies by destination and method. Most international orders ship from Spain, while USA Express orders ship from a US warehouse. Faster options cost more.

Options can include tracked or certified mail and courier services, and the checkout shows the current price for your address.

Herbies offers free shipping on larger orders within the EU and the UK. Elsewhere, you'll pay for shipping, though the free seeds help offset it.

Shipping and Return Policies

Despite the stealth packaging, some buyers' orders are stopped by customs.

Herbies' policy is to ask for a photo of the customs interception letter before it reships. Don't take that as a sign the import is legal. If customs seized your order, importing seeds is likely prohibited where you live.

Herbies' delivery guarantee covers eligible stealth-sent or insured orders that haven't arrived within twice the average shipping time. It may send a replacement or a refund.

Orders to Australia and New Zealand require insurance, which Herbies says covers up to two reshipments. Insurance fees aren't refundable, and refunds aren't available for undelivered orders there.

If you have a problem with your order, contact Herbies as soon as possible. Delivery claims must be made within 90 days of purchase.

Alternatives

While I’m a big fan of Herbies Seeds, there are other impressive alternative seed banks worth considering, including the following:

• I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM): Like Herbies, it also has an impressive seed selection. ILGM has advertised free shipping, which can save money on smaller orders. Check its current terms.
• MSNL Seed Bank: If there’s one thing that makes it better, it would be the rewards program. It encourages loyalty among buyers. In turn, you can receive discounts and freebies in exchange for your points.

Overall

Wrapping up this Herbies Seeds review, it’s one of the best-known names in the industry, with a long track record.

With its diverse selection, global shipping, user-friendly website, and attractive promotions, Herbies Seeds captivates many cannabis enthusiasts (including this one). Nonetheless, it has a few shortcomings, such as no free shipping for US orders.

That said, Herbies Seeds is a solid seed bank for quality seeds at reasonable prices, for adults who can legally buy and grow them.
