When I first heard about the Guava Cooler strain, I had a vivid picture of what to expect. I was thinking of something refreshing, ideal for the summer. After all, the name itself gives a clue that it must be invigorating!
The Guava Cooler strain is a hybrid from Distinkt Cannabis. It’s a cross between Guava and Kush Mints #11. Overall, the flavor profile is tropical, fruity, and peppery, which is expected, given the name of this hard-hitting Indica-dominant strain.
One of the first things I noticed is its price, which is quite affordable compared to many others I tried and reviewed. Is the price worth it? Read this Guava Cooler Strain review as I share more of my experience.

Appearance: 3.5/5
Right out of the vacuum-sealed packaging, there’s nothing really special about the way it looks. If I’m being honest, it is forgettable. Nonetheless, like others, I believe that you should never judge a book by its cover. Hence, wait until you finally try the Guava Cooler strain before giving a verdict.
It has medium-density nugs with evident trichomes. If you look closer, you’ll find shades of blue lurking behind the deep green body. I also noticed how it is covered in kief.
Aroma: 4/5
The tropical flavor is highly apparent in this weed strain. As it is named, I can smell hints of guava, although it also has traces of mango up the nose. The tropical, fruity, and peppery aroma are not too strong but enough to be noticeable. I love how it isn’t overpowering.

Flavor: 4/5
Just like the aroma, the name of this hybrid strain is very much telling of its flavor. It’s a combination of fruity and peppery, resulting in something that tastes tropical. It reminds me of a place where I can just cool down on a hot summer day.
Guava is the first thing that tickles my taste buds with a hit, but it also has hints of mango. It has a sweet-tart taste that makes me want more.
Effects: 4/5
With a high THC, the Guava Cooler Strain is on the potent side. I experienced a nice head high, but nothing too heavy. This isn’t one of those hard hitters that would make you want to bang your head on the wall. Instead, the effect is more relaxing. Even so, I still felt energetic, so I can function. As such, I can recommend it for daytime use.
I smoked it in a joint, and the overall experience was pleasurable. It isn’t harsh on the throat. Some users shared good experiences with vaping, but that’s one thing I have yet to try.
It’s also worth highlighting that the primary terp in this strain is Trans-caryophyllene. I did a bit of research about the latter and found out that it induces smooth muscle relaxation. And that’s exactly what I experienced using the Guava Cooler Strain.
Overall: 4/5
The Guava Cooler Strain may not be the best-looking hybrid out there, but it’s pretty decent. I love how affordable it is, at least, in the case of the one I got. It has a tropical, fruity, and peppery aroma and flavor. It’s reminiscent not only of guava but even of mango. The effect is great overall, which would still allow you to function, making it great for use during the day.

Alternatives
If the Guava Cooler Strain does not float your boat, no worries. Below are some alternatives worth considering:
- Platinum Gorilla Strain: Looking at the numbers, the THC is not as high as what you can find in Guava Cooler. Despite such, I find the effect to be a lot better in Platinum Gorilla, making it one of my favorites.
- Power Sherb Strain: If you like guava, this can be another great option. It has a more prominent flavor and aroma compared to the Guava Cooler strain.
