Dirty B, as some people call it, is an indoor-bred hybrid strain from EastCann, a grower in Nova Scotia, Canada. I couldn't confirm its parent strains with a breeder, so I'm leaving lineage claims out.

For me, Dirty Banana had relaxing, couch-lock effects with an uplifting edge, which made it a good wind-down strain. It is not a treatment for stress, anxiety, depression or nausea.

The high was enjoyable, but it is a high-THC strain, so newcomers should go slow. And despite the name, don't expect it to taste like banana.

The Dirty Banana Strain came in an airtight plastic container with two lids to keep the buds fresh. Inside were five beautiful, hand-trimmed, light green Dirty B buds covered in pale brown trichomes.

They were densely packed and soft, really soft. It was almost as if you could crush them by hand, and I was right.

The Dirty Banana strain breaks up well in a grinder and rolls into a blunt smoothly and tightly. That gave a better overall smoking experience, with little to no relighting and no canoeing throughout the session.

You’d be disappointed if you expect the Dirty Banana Strain to be fruity or smell like a banana shake. Still, it’s pungent and earthy in a good way, with a soothing kiwi smell and undertones of honey and banana.

Ultimately, it didn’t smell like bananas or a sweet banana-flavored product. I’d call it a smoked banana peel aroma, thanks to the earthy hints.

The sweet smell I noticed when I opened the container carried through to the joint I lit. It had a honey-like “roasted banana peel” taste with hints of tartness that was pleasant.

Newer smokers who expect a banana flavor may be disappointed by the branding. Many banana-named strains are earthy or citrusy and have only a tinge of banana smell or taste.

I went into the session expecting to get knocked out, and it did turn out to be a potent hit. It delivered a relaxing body high that kept me on my couch. I got through eight episodes of Suits in one sitting, which would normally take me a week or two.

Beta-Caryophyllene is often listed as a main terpene in this strain, but how individual terpenes shape effects in people is still being studied. Despite its indica profile, it also gave me a euphoric head high.

Dirty B’s potency was no joke; it hit hard and fast. Newer users should take one small hit and wait to feel the effects before having more, since high-THC products are more likely to cause anxiety or panic in people with little experience, according to NIDA.

The Dirty Banana Strain is a high-grade kush that fans of earthy, sweet strains will enjoy. It's a “dirty” strain whose name misleads you about its flavor: Dirty B smells more like kiwi fruit with notes of banana and honey.

I won't make it a regular in my stash box, since I prefer fruitier strains, but it hits fast and hard. If you’re a fan of a relaxing body high, the Dirty Banana won’t disappoint.
