The thought of growing cannabis plants can be exciting, yet it can also be challenging. One of the most important steps is picking the right marijuana seeds.
Online seed banks are a common option, and Crop King Seeds is one you might consider.
Crop King Seeds is a Canadian seed bank that also sells to customers in the US and other countries. Should you order from it? Read this Crop King Seeds review and learn more about what you can expect.
Legal note: This review is for adults 21+ where home growing is legal. Cannabis is still illegal under US federal law for nonmedical use (Schedule I), and state rules on seeds and home grows differ, per the Congressional Research Service.
The new federal hemp definition in P.L. 119-37 also excludes viable seeds from plants above 0.3% total THC from hemp, with parts of that change taking effect December 11, 2026, per CRS. Check your state's law, and your country's import rules, before you buy.
My Quick Crop King Seeds Review
Crop King Seeds is a Canadian seed bank with a long track record in the cannabis seed business.
The website groups its seeds into clear categories, and the catalog is large.
It ships from Canada and the US to many countries, in plain, unbranded packaging.
Crop King Seeds has a few drawbacks, though. Free shipping only kicks in on larger orders, the germination guarantee comes with strict conditions, and some buyers may find the prices a bit high.
A Look at the History of Crop King Seeds
Crop King Seeds says it was established in 2005, and it has grown from a small operation into a large online seller.
Its headquarters is in Vancouver, British Columbia. Legal access in North America has changed a lot since then: Canada legalized adult-use cannabis in 2018, and several US states legalized it at the state level, as when Colorado legalized weed.
Seed Selection & Quality
It’s frustrating when a seed bank offers a limited selection of strains. Luckily, that’s not something you will experience at Crop King Seeds.
One thing I like most about Crop King Seeds is its wide selection. Still, it isn’t as diverse as I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM) and Herbies.
Whether you’re looking for feminized marijuana seeds or autoflowering strains, there’s something for most growers.
Looking for a specific strain is easy. The seeds are grouped in specific categories, so finding them is a breeze.
Germination Guarantee
Crop King Seeds promises an 80% germination rate when you follow its germination guide correctly. If your seeds fall short, contact the support team about a replacement.
Read the conditions before you rely on it. At the time of writing, its FAQ limits each order to one replacement and sets rules on the germination method, such as using bottled spring water and not covering or heating the seeds.
The site's germination guide walks you through its recommended method step by step.
Pricing
When buying cannabis seeds, the first thing I look at is the price. This is a huge factor that will influence my decision. Still, if a seed bank is expensive, I won’t rule it out. At the end of the day, quality is more important.
This seed bank isn’t the cheapest on the market. Its prices tend to run higher than some competitors.
In my opinion, the price can be worth it given the service you get. I don’t mind paying a bit more for good seeds.
Prices change often, so compare the same strain and pack size across sellers before you buy. When we compared a pack of ten Jack Herer autoflowering seeds, Crop King came out a little higher than I Love Growing Marijuana and noticeably higher than Herbies.
Both I Love Growing Marijuana and Herbies are also popular sources for cannabis seeds.
Available Discounts & Promotions at Crop King Seeds
Whenever I purchase marijuana seeds online, I look for the best deals available. That's especially important for a pricier seed bank like Crop King.
The website of this seed bank has a dedicated promo page. This is where you can find all items on sale. Their promos change regularly, so check their website for the latest discounts.
If I’m being honest, their promos were underwhelming when I checked. I have reviewed other top seed banks with better offers.
When I looked, the main promo was a buy-one-get-one deal on selected strains, and many of the strains included were less popular ones.
If you want to hear about the latest promos, you can sign up for their newsletter instead of constantly checking the promo page.
Customer Service
What if there’s a problem with your order? Or what if you want to ask something? It should be easy to get in touch with someone who can help.
Crop King Seeds offers several ways to reach its team.
One of the easiest is live chat, using the button in the bottom right corner of the screen. It took a while for someone to respond when I tried it, but I was happy with the response I received.
You can also find phone numbers for the US, Canada and international customers on its contact page.
You also have the option to email them at [email protected]. Based on my experience with other seed banks, email responses are often slow.
If you need quick guidance, you might want to check the FAQ section on the website.
Website Experience
Looking at their website, nothing is special in terms of design. It’s pretty much the same as what you’ll find at other seed banks.
The website is easy to use, especially for first-time buyers. Seeds are grouped in categories, so it’s easy to find the strains you want. The ordering process is also simple.
New to germinating seeds? The site has a germination guide that walks you through the steps.
It would have been better if the website had more features. For instance, I would like to see a seed finder. Platforms like I Love Growing Marijuana and Herbies have quizzes that help you find a suitable strain.
Payment Methods
At Crop King Seeds, you can choose from several payment methods.
Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards registered in the US or Canada are accepted.
Crop King Seeds also accepts Bitcoin, plus cash or money orders sent by mail and MoneyGram.
Not all payment methods are available globally. At the time of writing, international customers can't pay by credit card; the FAQ lists MoneyGram, Bitcoin, and cash or international money orders instead.
Shipping
Another thing most people look at in a seed bank is where it ships.
Crop King Seeds ships to many countries. Many of its customers are in the US and Canada.
Importing cannabis seeds is illegal in many countries, and Canada says taking cannabis across the border is illegal. Only order where it's legal for you to receive them.
Packaging
At the time of writing, its FAQ says e-commerce orders ship in standard, unbranded packaging. Canadian orders ship from Vancouver, and other orders ship from Los Angeles.
Shipping Costs and Duration
Orders over $200 qualify for free shipping, according to the seed bank's FAQ at the time of writing. Smaller orders pay a flat shipping fee.
While this free shipping is good, I have seen better deals elsewhere. For instance, MSNL and I Love Growing Marijuana have offered lower free-shipping thresholds; check each site's current terms.
Delivery times vary by carrier and destination. The FAQ estimates a few days to a week once tracking is applied, and international orders can take longer.
Alternatives
While Crop King is a solid seed bank, it has its shortcomings. If you’re looking for other seed banks to consider, here are options that should be on your radar:
- Herbies: The price was more affordable than Crop King when we compared. I also like its more diverse selection.
- I Love Growing Marijuana: ILGM's shipping deals have been easier to qualify for than Crop King's $200 free-shipping minimum.
Overall
This Crop King Seeds review showed a seed bank with long experience, a diverse seed selection, an easy-to-use website, and a germination guarantee.
It also has its shortcomings. The higher prices can discourage some buyers, and free shipping requires a $200 order.
